The Harvey Norman homemaker centre in Penrith has been approved for a major retail expansion.
An amendment to Penrith LEP has formally been amended to introduce a split maximum building control of 15 – 19 metres over part of the 6.4-hectare site.
The existing centre contains 65,696 sqm of gross lettable area across 42 tenancies and is anchored by major national brands including Harvey Norman, Domayne, Bunnings Warehouse, Spotlight, Anaconda, JB Hi-Fi, Fantastic Furniture, Baby Bunting, Supercheap Auto and Petbarn.
Vacancy sits at just 104 sqm or 0.2% – materially below the NSW homemaker average.
The gazetted amendment unlocks 6,577 sqm of additional specialised retail floorspace through vertical expansion along the south-western edge of the site.

The additional floorspace is designed to accommodate further large-format and bulky goods operators, including tenants selling furniture, electrical, homewares, recreation and home improvement goods.
Upon completion, the centre would exceed 72,000 sqm, positioning it as the largest homemaker centre in Australia by gross lettable area.
