A housing-led redevelopment is being pursued at 26 Josephine Street in Riverwood, with plans to replace the existing Riverwood Hotel and short-term accommodation with a 10-storey shop-top housing scheme.
The proposal seeks consent for demolition of the current pub and construction of a mixed-use building delivering 182 apartments above a rebuilt hotel and active ground-level uses.
Retail, gym and coworking spaces are proposed at ground level alongside the pub.
The site currently operates as the Riverwood Hotel with associated short-term accommodation. It occupies over 7,700 sqm of land and sits within walking distance of Riverwood Station and the local town centre.
While the development form is residential-led, the scheme is structured to retain the pub use onsite through reconstruction, with staged construction proposed to allow hotel operations to continue through parts of the build.
Affordable housing is included at 5% of total dwellings.
