The long-debated planning proposal for 52 McLaren Street, North Sydney, has been officially rezoned, following the NSW Government’s gazettal on 26 September.
The decision paves the way for one of the most strategically located redevelopment sites on the Lower North Shore – directly adjacent to the new Sydney Metro Victoria Cross Station, and within walking distance of North Sydney Station.
The approved planning controls establish the following:
On completion, the transit-oriented development will include over 13,000 sqm of residential floor area, comprising over 170 apartments.
Historically, the site was occupied by a residential aged care facility owned by Uniting. Sydney Metro purchased the site from Uniting for $162.5 million in 2017 and cleared the facility to make way for the Sydney Metro City & Southwest – Victoria Cross Station.
