Billbergia in Early DA Stages for Major Macquarie Park Towers

By Charbel Abousleiman

#1 Place for Development in Sydney

Billbergia is in the early stages of an ambitious apartment project at 15 – 21 Cottonwood Crescent in Macquarie Park, clearing the way for one of the suburb’s largest residential projects to date.

Currently occupied by four 3-storey walk-up apartment blocks, the 5,130 sqm site will be transformed into two residential towers with a combined capacity of up to 870 apartments.

Under the scheme, 10% of the new homes will be designated as affordable housing, ensuring the development contributes not only to Sydney’s housing pipeline but also to social housing supply.

Billbergia’s proposal includes two towers rising up to 60 storeys above a mixed-use podium. This proposal has been lodged under the SDA program but historically, the site benefits from a DA approval for two towers with 124 and 131 apartments each.

While the original DA approved smaller-scale towers, Billbergia’s plans are positioned to evolve into a landmark high-rise addition to the Macquarie Park skyline.

The development is part of a wider transformation in Macquarie Park, with several large-scale projects in the pipeline or already under construction.
